Taku Kumazawa was born in 1970 in Japan. He studied industrial product design at the Nagoya University of Arts where he incorporated a common interest with his professor in sustainable design. He joined the R&D Division of AICHI Co,Ltd in 1994, he has continued to study and work on the sustainable design theme, and now this has been an integral factor to his product concept. In 2011, he was positioned to be ahead of the new product development of AICHI, and has continually provided with the new design concept. His key strong concept to the product development is functional beauty co-exists with a minimalist clean design.

His work has been recognized with more than 50 prestigious honors in Europe, the US, including the red dot, IF, German Design Award Design, and Best of NeoCon awards. Bornin Japan, Taku Kumazawa was encouraged by his father, an industrial designer, to explore creativity and design since he was a boy. Having later studied industrial product design at the Nagoya University of Arts, Taku began to merge his passion for design with an interest in sustainability and product lifecycles. In 1994, he joined axona AICHI, where he continued researching and developing his passion for ecological design thinking. Since 2011, Taku has led the product development of axona AICHI, allowing him to work through design concepts that combine functional beauty with a minimalist, clean, environmentally-conscious design. Taku's work has been recognized with over 50 prestigious honors in Europe and the US, including the red dot, IF, German DesignAward Design and Best of NeoCon awards.
